Review of the Navigational Aids on Strangford Lough
On behalf of both Ards and North Down Borough Council (ANDBC) and Newry Mourne and Down District Council (NMDDC), and in pursuance of their duties as Local Lighthouse Authority, NMDDC have contracted the consulting firm AECOM Ltd. to review the navigational aids within Strangford Lough.
The project focuses on mapping the various navigational aids (of which there are approximately 100) and through a process of consultation, seeking to agree which aids should remain and which are no longer required.
As part of this project we are hosting two stakeholder engagement evenings, please see below for details.
AECOM have analysed the risk to maritime users of the lough and now they would like to here from you. If you have an interest in how maritime traffic is managed in Strangford Lough; or some local knowledge of the risks to those who operate boats on the lough, and are willing to share your knowledge at one of the workshops below then please come along. We want to hear from you!
Please register your intention to attend one of the above events by emailing susan.mcclay@nmandd.org
