AONB Amateur Photography Calendar Available Soon! and Competition relaunches for another year!

We are pleased to announce that our much sought after AONB Calendar for 2024 will soon be available throughout The Mournes, the Ring of Gullion and Strangford and Lecale. Watch this space for where to pick up your copy.

Our thanks to everyone who participated in AONB Amateur Photography Competition 2023. As ever, the standard of entries was very high and the judges had a difficult job selecting the winning entries which have now been compiled into the AONB calendar.

The winning entries were as follows,

Under 18 Winner of the AONB Amateur Photography Competition 2023, ‘Cunningburn’ by Leah Kerr.

The judging panel, Anthony Lynn NI Water, Cllr Valerie Harte Newry Mourne and Down District Council, Cllr Jennifer Gilmour Mayor of Ards and North Down Borough Council and Mr David McGinn Chairperson of the Mourne Heritage Trust.

As this is an annual competition, it is now open once again for entries, closing in August 2024 find out more here. The title for this year’s competition is ‘Magnificent Mourne Gullion Strangford! Our Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty through the seasons.’ 

The theme is open to individual interpretation. You might choose to photo wildlife (which includes animals and plants), landscapes, or even the weather.

This competition will close on 16th August 2024 at 5pm, and the winning photographs selected by the judging panel will form the AONB Calendar for 2025.
