Wetland Bird Survey Training

Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS) training session, a refresher for those that are already surveyors, but will also provide training for those who would be interested in joining this BTO survey.

WeBS core counting season is September to March monitoring the UK’s internationally important non-breeding waterbirds. Learn more about WeBS here https://www.bto.org/our-science/projects/wetland-bird-survey

Training will be delivered by Mr Kerry Mackie, and will include some ‘classroom’ learning and then outdoors to view the birds on Strangford lough and practise bird ID and counting skills.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Please bring binoculars if you have them, and dress for the weather once we go outdoors.

This training is free, funded through the NIEA Environment Fund.

This training is not suitable for children.
